Establishing a school culture of wellness doesn’t just mean the school. Collaboration has to happen on every level to make that shift. And you can do so by trying small shifts. Oftentimes, we train the personnel but not the parents. That’s a mistake.

We can’t leave parents out of the mental health education triangle. Including them in the process helps lay the foundation. The image below reflects the most effective approach to creating a culture of school wellness by educating all the players.

This group asked lots of great questions. The topic was Raising Mentally Health Kids: Parenting Tips for Teaching Kids How to Cope. Each parent can take home a pdf that lists the strategies on one sheet of paper. From reviewing their index cards, I know they got the messages. Everyone in that room loved their kids and wanted the best for them.

You can find the mental health speaker parent programs on this page.
